Under the Plexifilm label, design a series of four DVDs about postmodern designers Stefan Sagmeister, Art Chantry, Peter Saville, and James Victore.
The underlying notion of postmodern graphic design is iconoclasm – rebelling against and destroying the previously established "rules" of design. This DVD series portrays iconoclasm literally by taking icons of art history and "defacing" them with designs derived from iconic pieces by each graphic designer. The individual DVD covers reference an iconic piece by each designer, which is revealed inside the DVD case.
Two other important aspects of postmodern design are humor and shock-value. For this series, I borrowed the ironic and often crude brand of humor that characterizes each designer.
